The following testimonials have been written word-for-word from interviews between Premier PR and MNF clients.
Tim Barry, Cereal farmer, Clunes, Victoria.
Tim Barry has a cereal crop in the Clunes area. Munash has been working with Tim Barry using Eco-Min, Omniboost K and Bio-N. As a result of using Munash products the crops are looking better, yield has increased, there are fewer weeds, stock are able to eat the stubble, the straw is of better quality, there are fewer screenings in the grain and the grain is of a more uniform shape. Tim has been able to sell the better quality straw, something he has not been able to do in previous years.
“I heard about Munash through reading and some mates that were tossing ideas around. I approached Munash because I wanted healthier soil, and there wasn’t any other options, only chemical fertilizers. Ian Munro came out to my property as a start and we sat outside for an hour or so and had a chat about a program. I now use Eco-Min and foliar sprays. I’ve found that through the drought years we’ve still had great crops. The soil health improved, the soil is a better colour and it’s been doing better in comparison to my neighbours. It is also cheaper in comparison to chemical fertilizers. I’ve been happy with the results. I still use Munash. It’s now our fourth or fifth year of using the products and I wouldn’t go back. We use minimal chemical fertilizers now. I’d recommend Munash products to others. I think a lot of farms have gone overboard with chemical products, the benefits bring it back to a healthier soil.” - Tim Barry, Clunes.
Jarrod Quick, Potato farmer.
Through using Munash products the Quick family has been able to produce a lot more potatoes and the quality has improved greatly; they have also been able to reduce the amount of conventional fertilizer used.
“The reason why we have moved to natural fertilizers is because conventional ones are too costly and the natural ones are obviously more beneficial for the soil. We’ve used soil conditioner, Eco-Min and Bio-N and Omniboost K. From using the products, as the year progressed we could see the soil turn into a more compost-looking soil; you can actually see it work. One variety of potatoes that we were growing 15-18 tonnes we’re now producing 25-36 tonnes. With the increase in yield you can definitely see a benefit in using it. Other benefit is that Ian is there to monitor the soil and plant health throughout the year to see what the plants need or don’t need. We’ve been very happy so far and would recommend Munash to others. The proof is there, results are there, so why wouldn’t you use them? You also save money with the Munash products because you can use less, so it’s a money saver for a start.”
- Jarrod Quick, Ballan.
Dr Margaret Brennan, Hobby farmer, Ballarat, Victoria.
Dr Margaret Brennan runs a 394-acre hobby farm in Miners Rest, Victoria and is one of Munash Natural Fertilizers’ longest serving customers. A retired doctor, Margaret is passionate about soil health and shares the importance it has on the health and wellbeing of plants, animals and humans.
“I was a doctor in the 1950s and have noticed that so many chemicals have been introduced into our diets and bodies; we didn’t have the diseases we had then as we have now. Our health depends on the health of the soil, that’s how important it is. Minerals are so important for humans and equally for animals. We’re destroying soil with chemical fertilisers that’s why I just don’t use them. I’ve used [Munash products] on crops and pastures and in my water troughs. I’ve hardly noticed the drought like other people… if you get the soil right, you retain about 30 percent more water. I’ve had stock on my pastures all the time and when I sell my lucerne people find how much better their horses are, they are thrilled with the way their horses are when they eat my lucerne. What I’ve also noticed is that since using it on my crops I no longer have to spray for insects on my lucerne. As long as I keep the sugar level high, the red-legged mite won’t touch it. You don’t need sprays if you keep the soils healthy, and then the plants are healthy. I would recommend it to everyone, even gardeners who are looking after their own plants and trees.” – Margaret Brennan, Miners Rest.
Nathan Cahir, Club Secretary, Dunnstown Football Oval, Dunnstown, Victoria.
Dunnstown Football Club contacted Munash to assist with the recovery of the oval after extreme heat conditions made sporting ovals in the area less playable and less safe. Munash began treating the oval in July 2008 with Eco-Min and Eco-Min Balance. The oval turf is now thicker without having to apply any new seed or turf to the oval and has fewer weeds.
“We approached Munash as we had patchy areas of grass cover on the oval, and even with the annual pruning, the weeds were getting through all the time. Also, through the winter patchy parts of the oval would break up and get muddy. We used Eco-Min and Eco-Min Balance. Now we have a really good cover - it doesn’t get muddy and it holds well. In terms of grass and weeds, it’s never had so much grass and never had so few weeds. With how the ground has come up we’ve been able to offer it up for the footy finals as part of the Central Highlands Football League. We’ve had lots of different people outside of the club who say how good the ground is. Two other clubs have approached us to ask us about what we have done to the oval. I’d absolutely recommend Munash products and services to other sporting clubs.” - Nathan Cahir, Dunnstown.
